The TelestopperTMis a heavy duty, portable pneumatic bladder system for the roadside containment of liquid pollutants such as oils, fats, chemicals, milk, sewage, etc. More effective than a drain mat the, TelestopperTM can convert a roadside drain in to a containment vessel - which on sloping grounds prevents the spilt item from running down hill into the next opening.
How it works video Vehicle Telestopper Demonstration
The TelestopperTM can also be used on a site to deal with larger spils beyond the capacity of a spill kit. However, the drians must be readily accessible and the materials classified as low hazard. In flood control the TelestopperTM can be used to block toilets bowls and drains where backflow is a real risk to properties.
Supplied either loose or in an emergency call point type enclosure, with a break glass to open key box, the Telestopper/sTM become your first line of defence in the event of a spill.
Normal practice is to lift the lid of the drain, insert the TelestoppersTMbladder into the outlet pipe using the telescopic handle and inflate. If there are more than one drain on site this process should be repeated for each drain at risk from the spill, and remember, corrugated and even distorted pitch fibre pipes can be sealed off using the TelestoppersTM highly flexible bladder!
The Industrial TelestopperTM can cater for drain outlets ranging from 4" (10cm) to 18" (450cm) diameter. Larger sizes are available to special order.
To the right is a photograph of a deployed TelestopperTM sealing off a 12" (30 cm) diameter drain to prevent a spill from entering a drainage ditch. In this example, the drain is sealed at the outlet rather than inlet. This has the advantage of increasing the capacity of the "containment vessel created" to perhaps a 1000 x that of a standard spill kit.
Almost any size of spill can be handled cleanly and safely thanks to EIL's Vehicle Mounted Emergency Flood and Spill Defence Systemsm using pneumatic bladder technology. Housed in an almost indestructible red
polypropylene all weather "pod", the system comprises of our heavy duty TelestopperTM, extension pole, stirrup pump or vehicle tyre adaptor, regulator and/or pressure gauge. Optionally, the kit can be supplied complete with a set of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and drain lifting irons.
The TelestopperTMfeatures interchangeable pneumatic bladder heads permitting it to seal off drains with outlets ranging from 4" (102mm) right the way up to 18" (450mm) diameter. Use your TelestopperTM whenever loading or discharging cargo at a customers site and you will be sending them a clear message that your business cares about the environment and you don't just carry equipment to tick the Health and Safety compliance box!
